Exhibition Branding

After discussion with Joe & Alex it was apparent that there was more than just a simple photographic connection linking our work. We had all chosen the exhibition as the correct project that best fitted our photographic statement, but we had all individually selected a method of using light to transmit, communicate and embellish our final pieces. As with all well orginised exhibitions - Shadow Catchers (V&A), Richard & Famous (Open Eye), branding has to intrigue, enhance and entice the public to step into your chosen venue. Through open discussion a number of titles where discussed, with Transmission being the mutually agreed favourite. The word Transmission links all 3 bodies of work via the intended use of light boxes and projectors but still allows plenty of room for development or even change of creative direction for all involved.

As my original background was in graphics I volunteered my skills to develop the Transmission branding. It was important to get this element of the project underway as it helps potential sponsors and individuals understand and realise our aims, and communicates a level of professionalism expected within the public domain.

I have been mindful to link the branding back to Stockport College via the use of the same colour palette.
